How to take a deep breath.

Take a deep breath in any way that feels comfortable.

The video shows one example of a way you can take a deep breath. You can see the breath comes in through the nose and starts from the tummy. This enables the lungs to expand first from the lower part, moving progressively upwards.

The reason for expanding the bottom part of the lungs is because the most efficient area of the lungs is at the bottom. Breathing from the top of the lungs is less efficient and uses muscles that attach to the neck (and may cause those muscles to fatigue and become sore).
